Public Institutions
Our solar energy solutions are helping public institutions, such as schools and healthcare facilities, access sustainable and dependable power. With our support, these institutions can provide essential services without disruption, improving the well-being of entire communities.
In February 2021, Solkamtech S.A.R.L was awarded the contract to construct a 50 kW solar power plant at the Central Hospital of Yaoundé in the Mfoundi Department, Center Region. This project aimed to electrify critical services within the hospital, including the operating rooms, maternity ward, and emergency surgery services. The system comprises 152 solar panels and 32 lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery modules, along with advanced inverters, ensuring reliable energy supply for essential medical operations.
In accordance with APPEL D’OFFRES N° MRO-20/00502, Solkamtech S.A.R.L undertook the rehabilitation and solar electrification of the blood bank at the Regional Hospital of Maroua. This project was financed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and was executed over a period of 3 weeks.
Solkamtech S.A.R.L completed a 5-month rural electrification project in Nkolessang, Central Region, financed by the Ministry of Water and Energy. The initiative aimed to bring solar power to households using 38 solar panels (445W each), 24 Ultracell batteries (600Ah/2V), and three 5 kW GROWATT inverters for a total of 15 kW of three-phase power. This project significantly improved energy access for the local community.
In October 2020, Solkamtech S.A.R.L undertook a 3-month project to supply, install, and commission three solar mini power plants at CAMTEL sites in Kaélé (15 kW), Lolodorf (22 kW), and Kousseri (30 kW). Funded by the Ministry of Water and Energy, this initiative aimed to ensure continuous power supply for the CAMTEL agencies in these locations, enhancing the reliability of telecommunications services through sustainable solar energy solutions.
Solkamtech S.A.R.L carried out a 4-week project funded by GIZ to install solar photovoltaic systems at community telecentres in Mandama and Bibemi. The initiative aimed to ensure uninterrupted power for WiFi network equipment, supporting digital connectivity and training opportunities for local youth. Each site was equipped with 16 solar panels (250W each), 12 batteries (200Ah/12V), one 3kVA inverter, and two 60A charge controllers, significantly improving the telecentres’ operational efficiency.
In 2022, SolkamTech completed a 3-month project funded by the Ministry of Water and Energy to install solar-powered streetlights at the Apostolic Nunciature in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The project involved setting up 23 solar streetlights and around 20 solar floodlights to illuminate access roads and pathways, enhancing safety and security at the site.
The distribution of 12,000 solar-powered sprayer baguettes to cotton producers took place in the towns of Pitoa, Guider, and Bibemi, as part of an initiative by the CNPCC (National Confederation of Cotton Producers of Cameroon). This project aims to support sustainable farming, enhance cotton production, and reduce the environmental impact of pesticide use in these key agricultural regions.
